Transport Management System for SMEs

It’s the wild west up there, you know.  It's single lane bridges, remote and hot, it's high risk. There's not a lot out there and we're talking three and a half thousand ks each way. It's beautiful too, it's a beautiful part of the country, and it's rewarding.

Macnsons were a sensitive freight transport company based in Western Australia. We love high volume moves, but we also really enjoy the challenge of high-risk movements of high-value assets.

My drive now is just a personal drive to get the business running as efficiently as I can. The big thing is the people really first and foremost, and then the equipment, systems, the culture and everything to back the people up.

Some days we might have 140 consignments, and it's time consuming. Delivery runs years ago were hand written. We used to photocopy them and we would be scheduling late.

We started looking for a better way of doing things, looking for different transport management systems and warehouse management systems.

We sat down, went through those options and we ended up choosing CartonCloud.  A lot of the team at CartonCloud comes from a history of transport. It helped appease our anxiety with the system integration.

It really couldn't have gone any better. It would save us 30 - 40 hours a week, it pays for itself very quickly. CartonCloud can interact with other systems and data can flow. And I think for our customers they want visibility, they want to know where their freight is, where their assets are in real time - and the system provides that.

I don't spend any time thinking about my transport or warehouse management system, it means a lot. It is very rewarding, seeing our team grow and achieve what they've set out to achieve.

Craft beers, chilled meats, frozen products, seafood. We are a temperature-controlled transport company. We've been in business for 19 years. It's still growing. Our products are time-sensitive and temperature-sensitive. As a business, we got on board with CartonCloud two and a half years ago, and that's one of the best decisions we've ever made.

It's a simple, easy-to-use platform that allows our clients to upload parcer files into their consignments into the system. It's auto-allocated through to the running driver. The driver then has the ability to sign on glass real-time, GPS location, trackable.

The Customers are able to look at what they've signed and are able to get an email instantly, from what would have been PODs flying out the window, to lost bits of paper, it's all captured in the back end. It's a game-changer.

The whole organization has jumped on board because it is so simple to use. All of the heavy back-end data, it's in the back. We don't live in that space. What that means in our business is the efficiency we get out of CartonCloud is just amazing.

A reduction of, I’d probably say 50% in our admin costs. The ability for customers to be able to search their own PODs, find out where their freight is. It just saves time and saves money, so much so we're enrolling our customers at CaryonCloud, and they are seeing the same efficiencies we are.

The business analyst tools are second to none.

The number of reports we're able to pull, run revenues, route optimization, invoice errors, the planning of what we're doing for the next day.

If CartonCloud is just not used on a day-to-day basis, it has been critical in the future planning of our business.

One of the unexpected benefits is we finally have a system that we could wrap all of our other systems around. It finally gave us a way to vertically integrate our business. In a way we couldn't do before we had CartonCloud.

We started out with a dream of just providing transport to small craft breweries. There was no provider in our industry for the smaller, little guy. It was only, you know, I only wanna see you if you've got 50 pallet loads and a million consignments a week. I think, for us, we just wanna become the best in the industry.

So, before we had CartonCloud, I was doing everything manually. All day long, it was all night long. It was on the weekends. I couldn't go out for dinner. I couldn't go out with friends. I couldn't watch TV because I would be sitting at the desk, filing things, routing things. I literally worked one night til 1:00 a.m. doing it. I just said, "I can't keep doing this." I said, "We have to find a solution." One of our customers said to me, "Oh, you should check out CartonCloud. "We use it for S.A. "It's a really good program."

So then we got on board with using it. And it's just been a really amazing journey. I would say absolutely no doubt CartonCloud is the absolute best system. Being able to finish like a normal person at 5:00. We've done all the allocating. We've printed all the paperwork for the next day. It's just, you can't really put a price on it. Until you lose that part of your life, and then suddenly get it back, you really don't appreciate just being able to go out for dinner and not have to think, I have to go home because I have to go home and do all the allocating and filing of paperwork.

It saves on costs. It saves on having to employ more staff. Because if I didn't have this program, I would have to have probably two admin people with me because there's no way that I'd be able to do the volume of work that we do with the program. It also really would prevent our business from being able to grow. Like, Andy would ring in a sale, or the customer might wanna join us and I'd say, "No, I can't, please I can't take any more work." Whereas now, I'm like, "Sure!" I don't even notice.

The kids, they're much happier because I'm much more present so it's really really changed our lives. It's made us much happier. My husband comes home and everyone's finished work for the day. It's given us the ability to get as big as we possibly can. For me, it's a no-brainer.
